Version 2.9 (released November 2011) is the annual update and provides a couple of improved details.

Note: from this release on the specification and documentation packages of EventsML-G2 and NewsML-G2 have been merged into one. That is also the reason for jumping in version numbering of EventsML-G2 from 1.6 to 2.9 which aligns with NewsML-G2 version numbering.

Version 1.3 was annual update.

Version 1.1  is a minor update, the news coverage planning was extended by a set of structured properties.

On 31 March 2009 the XML Schema files were updated to fix minor errors and version 1.1 specification documents were made available.
