the IPTC encourages all developers and software
vendors reviewing any upcoming IPTC technology

Architecture
A generic framework for all future news
exchange standards from the IPTC G2 Family
of Standards. Specific news exchange standards:
* NewsML-G2
* SportsML(-G2)
* EventsML-G2
* NITF (for G2)
News
Architecture (NAR) for G2-Standards:
The structure part of the NAR specifications
has been approved by the IPTC on 30 May 2007.
NewsML-G2:
Work on the successor to NewsML 1.x (see www.newsml.org)
commenced in spring 2004. Currently the work
is focussed on the implementation by making use
the new News Architecture framework.
SportsML
(-G2): (see
also www.sportsml.org)
SportsML 1.8 was approved at the Autumn 2006
IPTC meeting and is publicly available.
The SportsML Working Group currently develops a variant
of SportsML which will fit into the technical framework
of the G2-Standards.
EventsML-G2: (see
also www.eventsml.org)
The IPTC started developing this standard to exchange
event information in 2004 and as a first result
the Business
Requirements Document (rev 4) was
published in June 2004.
Currently the work is focussed on the implementation
by making use the new News Architecture framework.
NITF: (see
also www.nitf.org)
NITF version 3.4 was approved at the Autumn 2006
IPTC meeting and is available on the NITF web site.
The NITF Working Party is currently developing
a variant of NITF which can be used to mark up
textual content of any G2-Standard.
